The benefits of strength training for older adults are many and varied. Building and maintaining functional strength is so important to enable us to continue to live as we would like, or to recreate abilities that we may have lost through inaction or injury.
Strength training has the ability to reduce the risk and signs and symptoms of numerous chronic diseases including heart disease, type 2 diabetes and arthritis, as well as having the ability to improve osteoporosis, sleep quality and depression. Not to be forgotten, the the social benefits of training with a group of similarly aged and like minded individuals are many, helping create important links and friendships, improving mood, motivation and general health.
Here at Oceans24 we have been providing the opportunity to participate in individual based programs through our specialised program and qualified instructors for the past 15 years.
